Michal Baturko Olbert, co-founder of Probinex, on a mission abroad


In our communication, we often mention one of the Probinex project co-founders, Michal Baturko Olbert. It is him who not only oversees the expansion of Probinex to markets in new countries, Michal personally spends several months a year abroad negotiating deals that will move the project to an entirely new level.

But what are these deals even about?

Let’s shed some light on that, so you can understand what really happens when Michal once again boards a plane to another foreign destination.


Lots and lots of meetings...

We believe, that nothing can quite match a face-to-face conversation. There are many ways to read a person and when transparency is one of the key values you build on, then it applies twice as much. Typically, Michal has 3 to 4 meetings a day planned on an efficient day, sometimes as much as six. This month, he is heading to Athens and has 9 appointments with 14 clients planned for each day, that equals to 28 potential clients in 48 hours.  

Of course, Michal’s job isn’t just about meeting people and shaking important hands. That’s only the starting point of building a relationship with each and every one of these people based on trust and total transparency. Some people are very thorough and ask for a lot of information. Information, that is always available and ready for the eyes of the public.

„With each person I meet, it starts a cycle that ideally ends with the client investing. Just the first follow-up contact takes an hour - hour and a half. The email absolutely can't be templated, afterwards, arrange a call and connect online. With the 28 people I’ve met in Dubai, that accounts for 35-40 hours of first contact-related work altogether. And none of the people have even set up an account yet.“

Perhaps you’re beginning to see where the problem lies. Representability and scalability. The growth of Probinex simply outgrew Michal’s capacities as a human and without reinforcements, the growth of Probinex would have been strictly limited.


“I surely wouldn't get much thanks from existing clients for that. That's why my approach is different.“


In Dubai and Greece, Michal mainly meets with referrers. Those are people who have some sort of financial background, manage people's assets, and/or represent financial companies. These people are aware that with the upcoming years, we are facing an era of regulations and that they need a solution that will play along with the new rules.

This group requires much more dedication of time in the question of building a relationship on solid foundations. If they are to guide other people and clients, it’s no longer just their own money in the game but also their reputation. That is why communications with this group of people require much more time, but at the same time, when Michal’s efforts fall on fertile ground, they result in a gain of a partner who will after trying out themselves bring another clients to the project.

And the whole operation doesn't grow linearly but exponentially. These referrers, business and salespeople are then bringing in not only clients but also other referrers and businessmen.

In Greece, the vast majority of Michal’s 18 appointments are with people who are established in circles with focus on finances.

How does Michal find these people? His Greek contact Elias brought them all in. A referral. A man who is known by almost every important person in Greece. He's been running the Money Show there for years. And now, there will be a series of conferences, attended by about 20,000 people every single year, called the Probinex Money Show. Michal has already built a very strong partnership with Elias.

As a result, Elias invites dozens of investors and recommenders to each of these events, in addition to the standard attendees, who he tells ahead of time about Probinex. These people then come and personally bring up the topic when meeting us.
